Teatteri Telakka toivottaa lämpimästi Tervetuloa!

Telakka is a culture house in Tampere which was founded in winter 1996. The idea of Telakka was born in 1994 when the three small professional theatre groups were without a stage of their own. The groups linked together and found an old corn storehouse in the middle of Tampere and renovated the building. Since then Telakka has become an attractive and charismatic culture house which attracts people not only from Tampere but from all around in Finland and also abroad. The culture house Telakka is having its' 15th anniversary this year. The basic idea is to build up the performances of own and to offer an opportunity and place for interesting acts and artists.

Theatre Telakka is a small but an active theatre. Theatre's repertoire is usually outside the mainstream. The basis of the Theatre Telakka are the artistic experiments and unprejudiced searching for new forms. The theatre's statement is that there still has to be theatre which p rovokes discussion and is outside of market economy.
